About Amatsu

Amatsu is a soft tissue therapy which helps to re-balance the body using mobilisation, massage and other manual methods in order to allow it to heal itself. It works to aid the body by finding the root cause of an issue rather than just easing the symptoms.

It has influences of ancient Japanese martial arts as taught by Dr Masaaki Hatsumi and uses diagnostic tools including orthopaedic testing and muscle testing to assess the body for each treatment.

Amatsu takes into consideration five factors which in Japanese are collectively known as the “Godai”. They are interdependent and any change in one has an effect on one or more of the others. They are physical, emotional, environmental, chemical and electrical. A practitioner will bear these in mind during each treatment and remember that we need to look at the bigger picture in order to make critical changes for the better.

The unique application of Taijutsu allows a deeper treatment and therefore deeper corrections to the body. Taijutsu translates from Japanese as “natural body movement” which the practitioner will use throughout to ensure a safe treatment for both themselves and the client.

An Amatsu treatment is called a “Balance” and there are many potential benefits including:

– Relief from aches and pains

– Reduced stress levels

– Improved energy levels

– Increased stability and flexibility of the skeletal system

– Improved blood circulation to the muscles

– The release of tight muscles

– Increased range of movement in the joints

– Aid recovery after a sports injury
